Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 17, 2026
This policy explains what information StreetsAreCalling collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We aim to keep this short and human-readable.
Information we collect
- Account info: name, email, profile picture, and authentication identifiers from providers you connect (e.g. Strava).
- Activity data: GPS tracks, timestamps, distance, duration, and any metadata associated with imported activities.
- Generated content: coverage maps, snapped routes, and videos we produce on your behalf.
- Usage data: basic logs and analytics about how the service is used, including device and browser information.
How we use it
We use your information to:
- Provide and operate the service — including map matching, coverage analysis, and video rendering.
- Show you your own data and progress over time.
- Improve the product, fix bugs, and prevent abuse.
- Contact you about your account or significant service changes.
We do not sell your personal information or activity data, and we don't use it to serve third-party advertising.
Third-party services
To deliver the service, we rely on a small set of trusted providers. They process information on our behalf under their own privacy and security standards:
- Strava — to import your activities, with your permission via OAuth.
- Hetzner, Vercel, Google Cloud — hosting, infrastructure, and file storage.
- OpenStreetMap — map data; we don't share your personal data with them.
- Analytics (e.g. PostHog, Vercel Analytics) — aggregate, privacy-respecting product usage metrics.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember preferences. We may also use privacy-friendly analytics cookies to understand aggregate usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
Data retention
We keep your account and activity data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we'll remove your personal information and activities within a reasonable period, except where we're required to keep records (e.g. for legal or accounting reasons).
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete your account and associated data.
- Export your activity data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
To exercise any of these, email support@streetsarecalling.com.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your data — including encryption in transit, access controls, and regular updates. No system is perfectly secure, so we encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to enable two-factor authentication on connected accounts.
Children
StreetsAreCalling is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the “Last updated” date above. For significant changes, we'll also notify you by email or in-app.
